Why you want this job You’ll play a hands-on role in ensuring quality for the 1-800 Contacts core website — the storefront where millions of customers purchase their contacts. This site is our flagship product and directly impacts the customer experience, revenue, and brand trust. You’ll test new features, ensure the storefront works flawlessly across devices, and help us deliver a seamless shopping experience. You’ll be part of a collaborative, cross-functional team where your work has a direct, visible impact on the business and our customers. What you’ll do Lead and execute manual and automated testing for the 1-800 Contacts web storefront (UI and APIs). Develop and maintain test plans, cases, and strategies for complex website functionality. Test customer flows end-to-end: browsing, prescriptions, shopping cart, checkout, and integrations with backend services. Verify cross-browser and cross-device compatibility to ensure a seamless customer experience. Use logs, monitoring tools, and analytics to evaluate quality in production environments. Collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and designers to improve testability and resolve defects quickly. Mentor junior team members and advocate for best practices in testing. Participate in Shift Left (quality early in dev) and Shift Right (monitoring in production) practices What you'll need 3+ years of professional QA engineering experience (preferably in e-commerce or customer-facing web applications). Hands-on experience with UI and API testing — both manual and automated (Cypress, Playwright, Selenium, etc.). Familiarity with programming languages (JavaScript, Python) to support test automation. Strong knowledge of website testing across multiple browsers, operating systems, and devices. Ability to analyze logs, monitoring tools, and performance data. Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. A collaborative, customer-first mindset. Nice to have Background in e-commerce or retail web applications. Experience with CI/CD pipelines and integrating automated tests as quality gates. SQL knowledge for backend validation. Familiarity with monitoring tools (Application Insights, Datadog, etc.). Exposure to AI-assisted testing approaches.
