Description
We are seeking an Industrial Quality Engineer with experience in manufacturing quality, process improvement, and root cause analysis. This is a hands-on, floor-based role; not a sit-behind-the-desk position. You will work directly in a manufacturing environment, partnering cross-functionally with engineering, production, and supply chain teams to improve product quality, process capability, and supplier performance using data-driven methods and core quality tools. The ideal candidate is comfortable being on the shop floor, solving problems in real time, and driving sustainable corrective actions. Key Responsibilities * Lead root cause analysis on the production floor using 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone (Ishikawa), and CAPA  * Work cross-functionally with manufacturing, engineering, and operations teams to resolve quality issues at the source  * Improve process capability (Cp, Cpk) using Statistical Process Control (SPC) in a live production environment  * Support New Product Introduction (NPI) using APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, DFMEA, and Control Plans  * Conduct supplier quality audits and drive corrective actions to improve incoming quality  * Interface directly with customers to investigate and resolve quality issues  * Perform Measurement System Analysis (MSA) and Gage R&R studies using CMM and metrology equipment  * Develop and maintain quality documentation (control plans, work instructions, inspection plans)  * Spend significant time on the manufacturing floor working alongside operators and engineers  Required Qualifications * Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, Materials, or related)  * 3+ years of experience in Manufacturing Quality Engineering  * Experience working in a hands-on manufacturing or production environment (not strictly office-based)  * Knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems (QMS)  * Proficiency in core quality tools:  * APQP, PPAP, FMEA (PFMEA/DFMEA)  * SPC, Cp, Cpk  * Root Cause Analysis (8D, 5 Why, Fishbone)  * Experience with metrology equipment: CMM, optical systems, calipers, micrometers  * Ability to read engineering drawings, GD&T, tolerances, and specifications  Preferred Qualifications * Experience in precision manufacturing, aerospace, automotive, or industrial manufacturing  * Familiarity with machining, coating, plating, heat treating, or assembly processes  * Experience with Minitab or statistical analysis tools  * Lean / Six Sigma (Green Belt or Black Belt) certification  Work Environment * Hands-on, shop floor-based role (significant time spent in production areas)  * Fast-paced manufacturing environment  * Daily interaction with cross-functional teams (engineering, operations, supply chain, quality)  * Requires a practical, problem-solving mindset and willingness to engage directly with processes  Access to our Aerospace facility (and, therefore, employment) is restricted under ITAR/EAR regulations to U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and properly licensed foreign persons.
