As part of the Software Development team, the Quality Assurance Engineer will report directly to the QA Manager. The Quality Assurance Engineer is responsible for developing and executing comprehensive test plans for applications development, oversee QA of mobile/web application, customer training of mobile/web applications, and supporting the QA Manager in mobile/web application release tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to understand software requirements and specifications for testing mobile/web applications.
  • Identify, document, and track software defects and issues for mobile/web applications using bug-tracking tools/methods.
  • Develop, maintain, and execute test plans and test cases.
  • Provide timely and detailed reports on testing progress and results.
  • Follow steps and report any unclear or missing steps for a given item/task that would affect QA testing.
  • Report on QA progress for mobile app development, promptly addressing identified issues.
  • Provide customer training on mobile/web applications, ensure a seamless experience, and collect feedback.
  • Lead the efforts to explore and implement various customer or crossed-team training formats to accommodate different learning preferences for mobile/web applications.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of varying formats including videos, tutorials, asynchronous and synchronous styles, etc.
  • Establish mechanisms for collecting user feedback during and after training sessions.
  • Gather and report feedback on customer training preferences and effectiveness.
  • Maintain internal training records and documentation.
  • Provide recommendations for further support or enhancements based on adoption patterns, and general improvements for the customer training process.
  • Undertake other projects/duties as assigned by the QA Manager or their designates.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science/Engineering or 2+ years of in a QA related role.
  • Manual testing experience is required, with automation exposure being a plus.
  • Knowledge of mobile/web application development technologies, platforms, and tools.
  • Willingness to learn new computer systems and software applications.
  • Willingness to learn iOS, Android, and web QA testing methods.
  • Willingness to learn how to identify issues in a mobile/web app testing environment.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to articulate technical concepts, facilitate discussions, and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong ownership skills in the testing process and project delivery.
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, with a detail-oriented approach to ensuring quality and timely delivery.

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience with automation tools such as: Appium (Android and iOS), Espresso (Android), XCUITest (iOS), Cypress/Selenium/Playwright (Web)
  • Ability to write and maintain test scripts, especially in JavaScript
  • Familiar with Git and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, MySQL
  • Knowledge of content creation for training purposes.
