Description

Careerhub Pty Ltd is looking for an experienced Quality Assurance Engineer / Software Tester for an immediate start.

About the role

The Quality Assurance Engineer / Software Tester will be responsible for ensuring quality outcomes across assigned products through systematic testing, process improvement, and collaborative teamwork. This is a full-time ongoing position working 38 hours per week based in Brisbane, Queensland.

Key responsibilities

  • Garner and maintain system expertise for assigned products
  • Understand strategic objective of desired short- and long-term system features and changes
  • Participate in agile scrum processes with effective communication in verbal and written forms
  • Develop, execute and track test items to ensure successful feature development outcomes
  • Maintain detailed and accurate issue tracking processes
  • Maintain and coordinate test scripts for assigned products
  • Adopt automated testing tools and develop automated software tests
  • Work collaboratively with product, design, development, and QA teams to ensure quality client outcomes
  • Identify and champion process improvement ideas and systems enhancements to increase overall system quality
  • Develop user training and communication materials for product releases

About you

  • Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent) in IT/Computer Science with at least 1 year of relevant work experience (or 5 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree)
  • Demonstrated experience working with large scale projects
  • Basic Agile software development process understanding
  • Meticulous attention to detail with the ability to juggle many tasks in parallel without lowering the quality bar
  • Strong professional communication skills with the ability to partner with internal and external team members effectively
  • Comfort working with a range of productivity and work-flow management tools (e.g., SmartSheet, Pivotal Tracker, Excel, and Word)
  • Experience with programming and scripting a plus
  • Experience with test automation a plus
