As the Engineering Student for the Quality Assurance team, you will dive into the exciting world of making sure all our gear in the oil and gas industry is top-notch. You will have the opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience during the fabrication of a variety of equipment, including pressure vessels, drum, boiler, heat exchanger, piping, pumps and more! You will become familiar with engineering codes, regulations, and industrial specific requirements all while teaming up with experienced professional engineers and tackling real technical challenges. It’s a hands-on, learn-as-you-go adventure!

  • Job location: Calgary, AB
  • Shift schedule : 5 days on, 2 days off, 8 hours/day (Monday – Friday)
  • Term lengths: 12 or 16 months
  • Term start: May 2026

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Introduction to Mechanical and Welding Engineering basics as per industrial codes including American Society of Mechanical Engineering (ASME) and American Petroleum Institute (API)
  • Introduction to Alberta Boiler Safety Association (ABSA) regulations and requirements
  • Become familiar with engineering drawings and diagrams
  • Introduction to project life cycle from initiation, planning, execution, monitoring to closure
  • Introduction to Quality Management System (QMS) and pertinent documentations
Responsibilities
  • Currently enrolled in bachelor’s degree program in Materials or Mechanical Engineering
  • Required to be physically and mentally fit for work.
  • Responsible attitude towards safety, demonstrate leadership and enjoy problem solving
  • Possess a valid Class 5 Alberta driver’s license or equivalent out of province license with a reasonably clean driver abstract.
  • A pre-employment drug screening test must be successfully completed
