As the engineering student for the Quality Assurance team, you will be involved in the exciting world of ensuring all our gear in the Oil & Gas industry is top-notch. You will have the opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience during fabrication of variety of equipment including pressure vessels, drum, boiler, heat exchanger, piping, pumps and more! You will become familiar with engineering codes, regulations and industrial specific requirements. All while teaming up with experienced professional engineers and tackling real technical challenges. It’s a hands-on, learn-as-you-go adventure!

  • Term length: 8 or 12 months
  • Term start: January 2025
  • Job location: Calgary, AB
  • Shift schedule: 5 x 2 – 8 hours (Monday – Friday)

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Introduction to Mechanical and Welding Engineering basics as per industrial codes including American Society of Mechanical Engineering (ASME) and American Petroleum Institute (API).
  • Introduction to Alberta Boiler Safety Association (ABSA) regulations and requirements.
  • Getting familiar with engineering drawings and diagrams
  • Introduction to project life cycle from initiation, planning, execution, monitoring to closure.
  • Introduction to Quality Management System (QMS) and pertinent documentations

Responsibilities:

  • Currently enrolled in Bachelor Degree program in Mechanical or Materials Engineering
  • Possess a valid Class 5 Alberta driver’s license or equivalent out of province license with a reasonably clean driver abstract
  • Good attitude
  • A pre-employment drug and alcohol test must be successfully completed
