QUALITY ASSURANCE INSPECTOR II

DFW International Airport, Dallas, TX – Fully Onsite
$80–100K (Depending on Experience) – Full Time with Benefits
Take your career to the next level with us! R.M. Chin & Associates, Inc. (R.M. Chin) is seeking a dedicated Quality Assurance Inspector II. The inspector position is responsible for construction quality assurance inspection, surveillance and documentation on multiple concurrent construction projects. The position serves as the on-site technical representative for inspection of contractor construction activities, daily coordination with contractor quality control and recommending acceptance of completed work based on the specifications. All QA Level II positions will act under the supervision of the DFW Quality Coordinator, assigned to the project, as directed by the DFW Quality Assurance Manager.

Qualification Requirements:

  • A bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or construction management;
  • And / or five (5) years equivalent construction experience in areas like MEP/HVAC, paving, soils and aggregates, PCC work, bridges, construction inspections, etc.
  • The ability to communicate effectively in English (verbally and in writing).
  • Experience with Airport/Aviation construction is required.
  • Prior experience at DFW airport is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyzes applicable codes, standards and specifications and monitors construction activities for compliance with the Inspection and Testing Plan.
  • Monitors various field construction installations in accordance with the and applicable specifications.
  • Performs general inspection of construction work for compliance with contract documents.
  • Monitors contractor’s site performance.
  • Prepares Inspectors’ Daily Reports (IDRS) for DFW and fills out appropriate inspection checklist for specific work under their oversight.
  • Assist The DFW Quality Assurance Manager to monitor Contractor’s implementation of Contractor Quality Control (CQC) program by monitoring the performance.
  • Interfaces with PM, CM management teams on all quality related issues.
  • Document any quality related issues that result an Issue or Nonconformance Report.
  • Assists in the verification that various worksites are in compliance with FAR 139, if applicable.
  • Informs the DFW QA Coordinator of issues real time.
  • Inspects material for compliance with contract documents, approved submittals and field orders.
  • Provides and uploads progress photos.
  • Execute the Inspector Daily Report (IDR) at the end of each shift and attach them to the weekly timesheet in Unifier.
  • Assists in providing troubleshooting measures that will progress QA related issues to the PM, CM teams.
  • Monitors project schedule activities and identifies when work activities are not taking place.
  • Provide issue resolution recommendations and ensure that those actions are carried out, and/or ensures that a corrective action plan has been stated as part of the Issue or NCR within 10 Days of issuance.
  • May be required to attend weekly PD QA meetings to discuss issues.
  • Coordinates with the Quality Control personnel and the DFW Code Inspectors that activities requiring Code inspections are complete and ready for inspection.
  • Assists in reviewing the contractor developed DFOW pre-activity meetings.
  • Coordinate and conduct the labor interviews in accordance with the DFW wage rate policy.
  • Ability to provide technical expertise in field construction activities.
  • Other duties as assigned.
