Position Summary: The Quality Assurance Inspector is a key part of the Quality Assurance Management System. The inspector is responsible for inspecting outbound and inbound product and ensuring it meets quality and safety standards. This includes checking for freshness, disease and insect pressure, height, bloom staging, color, and other metrics set by Rocket Farms, Inc and its customers. The inspector has an uncompromised sense of excellence, honesty, and transparency. The incumbent is a good swift communicator, relating relevant information accurately. Key Responsibilities: Perform rutinary and statistically significant quality inspections on Rocket Farms, Inc, produce and floral products. Making sure the products meet company’s and customers’ specifications. Document and report the findings of the inspections, and discuss the results with the horticulture, operations, and sales teams. Document and communicate swiftly with Operations, Horticulture, and Sales about quality non-compliance events. Process and produce reports regarding quality historical metrics. Work closely with the packing supervisors and crews, to ensure outbound products ship with quality and complete inspections. Work closely with Receiving and the SoCal brokerage division inspecting inbound products. Recommend necessary adjustments to production, packing processes, and strategies to improve quality. Participate in the development of product spec and standards. Support the Safety and Compliance department by participating in audits and helping to prepare documentation when needed. Partner with the Horticultural department collecting and processing relevant samples. All other duties as assigned. Requirements Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED Equivalent Attention to detail Good analytical skills Produce or floral experience preferred Bilingual, English/Spanish Knowledge and use of Microsoft Office suite programs. Good communication skills High sense of honesty and transparency Good multitasking skills, be able to prioritize tasks. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and exercise good judgement Safety oriented Ability to work long hours and weekends overnight, as needed Travel 15% Physical Requirements While performing the functions of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; frequently required to talk or hear; and occasionally required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally pull, push, carry and or move up to 50 pounds. Compensation: $21.00-$26.00 *The compensation range for this role is determined by factors such as location and required skills.
