Weekly Meal Allowance: $5 weekly allowance to use at our in-house market. Participate in company events through the summer internship program. What You Will Do: Assist the Quality Leads with disposition of castings, auditing process procedures, documentation, and in-process controls to ensure quality standards are met. Perform testing such as pulling test bars, chemical samples on the spectrometer, sieve sand tests and accurately entering data for scrap materials to support process improvement. Support customer services issues related to RMAs, working with customers to identify root cause of defects, and collaborating with vendors to resolve castings problems and rework parts as necessary to maintain production flow. This is an onsite role, Monday - Friday 7:30 am - 4:00 pm. Pay: $20 / hour Requirements What We Are Looking For: Students majoring in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related fields having completed their sophomore year by the end of the spring semester. Those with at least four semesters completed will be considered. Must be proficient in MS Office. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills with the ability to work independently and as a valuable team member. Ability to gather and analyze data. Familiarity with Industry 4.0 concepts and aluminum castings concepts, practices and procedures preferred. High degree of interest in manufacturing engineering, quality, or operations desired.
Responsibilities
The intern will assist quality leads with process auditing, documentation, and testing of aluminum castings to ensure quality standards. They will also support customer service issues by identifying root causes of defects and collaborating with vendors to resolve production problems.
