Job Description

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THIS POSITION:

  • This position reports to the Quality Assurance leader (lab). The Quality Assurance Lab Technician will be responsible for working with the Quality Assurance department to ensure all ingredients meet the specifications of the Company.

EDUCATION / CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Post-Secondary diploma in a Quality Control/Quality Assurance area is required, Engineering and Food Science is preferred.
  • 2 years minimum work experience in a Quality Control/Quality Assurance environment is preferred.

JOB SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS:

  • Strong computer skills (Proficient in Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook and Teams) including Windows software and plant informational systems (SAP, SharePoint).
  • Ensure that raw and packaging materials conform to their specifications
  • Aid in the disposition of non-conforming materials by helping to maintain the hold/release program
  • Responsible for Allergen control program and Site Kosher Program
  • Ensure Equipment calibration and verification program will adhere to company standard.
  • Responsible for maintaining clean and organized lab
  • Ensure that raw and packaging materials conform to their specifications.
  • Ensure that test equipment and inspection processes are routinely checked for accuracy
  • Conduct traceability audits as required and work with plant employees to ensure that any deviations are communicated and follow-up up on
  • Enter data in Plant Systems and maintain Quality Computer Systems (SAP and QS) to ensure accuracy
  • Perform micro-swabbing at different areas and maintain/track results and deviations. Log corrective actions
  • Technical support to production departments in trouble shooting of production/packaging problems
  • Any other duties as assigned by the Department Leader.
  • The successful candidate must be a responsible and reliable self-starter who is capable of working effectively with little supervision.
  • Must be a strong performer who demonstrates reliability, an excellent attendance record, excellent teamwork and strong self-directed, individual and group work ethic.
