KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Strong understanding of PPAP, APQP (Control Plan, Flow Chart), PFMEA, and problem-solving tools such as 8D, 5 Whys, fishbone diagrams, and process mapping is preferred.
  • Knowledge of quality inspection, measuring instruments, and testing equipment is preferred.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 Quality System requirements preferred.
  • Skilled at managing multiple assignments simultaneously is required.
  • Demonstrates sound judgment with a strong drive for action is required.
  • The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, including geometric dimensioning and tolerance specifications, is preferred.
  • Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office applications required.

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • 1-3 years in a manufacturing plant environment, preferably in a Quality Assurance or Technician role is required.
  • Experience in plastics injection/blow molding preferred

Physical Requirements
Frequent exposure to manufacturing operations requires the ability to use all necessary safety equipment. Standing, walking, stooping, and bending are frequent and required. Must be able to tolerate repetitive motions for extended periods of time. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Ability to stand for at least 8 - 12 hours on concrete surface is required. Must be able to tolerate extreme temperatures.

Responsibilities
  • Conducts incoming, first-off, in-process, and final inspection testing in accordance with Inspection Test Plans, customer specifications, and regulatory requirements.
  • Prepares and maintains inspection and test reports, certificates of compliance, and Inspection Test Plans.
  • Manages the calibration program, ensuring execution aligns with applicable standards and internal procedures.
  • Coordinates and supports audits and inspections conducted by external regulatory agencies, customers, and third-party auditors.
  • Issues Certificates of Conformance for finished products.
  • Develop and apply test methods and procedures that satisfy customer and regulatory expectations.
  • Performs First Article Inspections (FAIs) and PPAP dimensional layouts as required.
  • Provides training and guidance to QC Inspectors and Operators to ensure proper execution of quality checks.
  • Ensures adherence to ISO 9001 standards, customer specifications, and quality management best practices.
  • Collaborates with Production and Engineering teams to address and resolve quality issues.
  • Investigates customer complaints and prepares Return Material Authorization (RMA) reports.
  • Procures necessary materials and equipment for the Quality Control Laboratory.
  • Supports daily operations and continuous improvement initiatives within the Quality Department.
