Description

SURESTAFF is immediately hiring a Quality Assurance Lab Technician for a plastics manufacturing client in Surprise, AZ. The Quality Assurance Lab Technician will perform internal laboratory testing, coordinate product submission for external testing, and maintain current calibration on all IRIS QA equipment.

Required Qualifications of the Quality Assurance Lab Technician:

  • General quality terms such as: Quarantine, nonconformance, sample size, contamination, defect, lot sampling, dimension, allowable variation
  • Plastics quality terms such as: Cure, warp, bubble, burn, weld, flash, gate, short shot, condensation, streak, scar, emboss, string
  • Ability to Use of calipers, micrometers, weight scales
  • knowledge of Computer data entry
  • Basic computer literacy (logging on & off, finding folders through network paths, email, scanning, printing, uploading/downloading/editing/attaching photos)
  • Intermediate use of Microsoft Excel (familiar with functions in the toolbar and top ribbon, particularly inserting charts and entering formulas)
  • Understand and perform intermediate math, using Microsoft Excel to find percentage, average, median, quartile, standard deviation, minimum, maximum, and range values
  • Determine if product falls within specificatio
Responsibilities
  • Performs inspection, measurement, and reliability tests on products under development
  • Performs internal QA laboratory inspections and tests including dimensional measurements, flexural modulus, Izod impact, color spectrophotometer, melt flow index, overflow volume, weight capacity, functional and reliability tests, and shipping damage tests
  • Designs and conducts experiments to determine the effects of variables such as temperature, humidity, cure, stack pattern, etc. on product quality as requested by the Quality Manager
  • Develops and maintains a table of product dimensions, weight capacities, and other essential information for all products
  • Coordinates timely submission of samples for external laboratory tests
  • Maintains current calibration of QA equipment
  • Serves as backup for the Customer Satisfaction Specialist, logging and responding to customer complaints
