Microbiology Laboratory Assistant - Interim Location: Moncton, NB Status: Full Time, (Interim) Reports to: Molecular Biologist Position Summary: Reporting to the Molecular Biologist, the ideal candidate will be a motivated and technically minded person, who works well with others, displays strong attention to detail, has excellent organizational skills and can maintain a positive, professional attitude in a fast paced and changing work environment. The Lab Assistant works with the Laboratory team to ensure the lab is providing consistent, accurate and timely results to our internal customers, by assisting with reliable microbial testing of all our products. Key Responsibilities: Work safely following good laboratory practices Adherence to and enforcement of Organigrams GPP/EU-GMP standards Collect and log samples Perform media preparation, sample preparation and analysis Help in Environmental Monitoring, Water Analysis and Cleaning Validation Help in inventory management and in keeping the lab in a clean state Process sample waste material Help operate and maintain instruments and equipment Responsible for comprehensive record keeping Other duties as assigned Desired Qualifications: Previous experience of working in a Microbiology lab environment is considered an asset Impeccable attention to detail Numerical and analytical ability Theoretical and practical knowledge of Microbiology techniques Practical knowledge of aseptic techniques and accurate pipetting Work independently and as a team Thank you for your interest in Organigram.
