Job Description
AECOM has an immediate opportunity available for a Quality Assurance Manager for employment in Panama City, Panama.

The responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Provide overall on-site administrative and technical Quality Management program for a wide range of construction activities associated with dams
  • Responsible for the organization and direction of the construction Quality Control inspections and related activities within assigned area of responsibility, which may be a single area, multi-area or a multi-discipline water construction project.
  • Interact and be the primary contact for all inspectors and jobsite day to day quality inspection functions, and coordinate with client’s resident representatives on jobsite activities within assigned area of operations.
  • Responsibilities include ensuring construction installation and activities are in compliance with design/specifications and industry quality standards.
  • Provides positive direction to the quality staff and interfaces with all administrative field and field management staff and Project Manager in a coordinated effort.
  • Implement and maintain the Quality Program to assure all work is in conformance with the contract drawings and specifications and referenced quality standards.
  • Providing a cursory review of Contractor submittals for completeness and compliance with the specification requirements while monitoring the Submittal and RFI review process.
  • Provides technical consultation and direction as appropriate to lower-level technicians and inspectors.
  • Problem Solving: Analyzes, evaluates, and plans methods of approach, as well as organizes means to achieve solution and document a variety of complex technical challenges.
  • Conducts investigations and tests that are of considerable complexity.
  • Serve in oversight of final inspections, preparation of final punchlist and determination as to the completeness and acceptability of the Work.
  • Prepare, resolve, document, and close out all deficient and noncompliant construction installations and Maintain the Quality Trend log
  • Prepare and submit a monthly report regarding completed quality control activities and concerns, if any.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field + 8 YORE or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
  • Relevant experience with Dam projects including inspection, rehabilitation and/or new design and construction.
  • Experience in performing inspection, design, and/or engineering activities in dams or water retaining structures

Preferred Qualifications

  • 10 years or more experience including relevant experience with Dam projects including inspection, rehabilitation and/or new design and construction.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, staff supervision, strong negotiation skills and conflict resolution abilities
  • Excellent written communications and presentation abilities in internal project settings with the project team, external project stakeholders, and leadership.
  • Bilingual – English and Spanish
