Description JOB SUMMARY: The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating and managing the plant quality assurance program at the Bessemer and E78th locations to ensure continuous production of products consistent with established standards, and ensure that our customers’ quality requirements are met. The duties listed herein will be performed either personally or through subordinates. A candidate for the Quality Assurance Manager position will be an influential and independent functioning team member who possesses strong analytical and communication skills. A candidate will also demonstrate a proven track record in leadership, production processes and quality systems. This position reports directly to the Corporate Quality Director with dotted line reporting to the plant managers. MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES (not all inclusive): • Translate plant goals into quality department goals and objectives that support the facilities’ operations. • Identify areas of improvement and work with all levels within the organization to implement those improvements. • Develop/optimize quality department and/or system to run with greater efficiency to meet/exceed plant goals. • Provide quality leadership to management and the floor. Champion the quality management system as the ISO/IATF management representative. • Provide professional development of subordinates to meet business goals. Develop and empower employees through training programs, feedback, and reviews. • Communicate goals/progress to management. Interact and maintain effective communication with managers, supervisors, supports staff, and production personnel. • Ensure that quality events are thoroughly and quickly investigated, driving to root cause, and effective corrective action that permanently solves problems. • Plan, organize, schedule and maintain the activities of the quality department to ensure appropriate support of manufacturing operations. • Ensure Magnetic Particle Certification Program is maintained and managed to support production. Requirements QUALIFICATIONS: • Minimum of 10 years of quality assurance experience in a manufacturing environment • Minimum of 3 years quality assurance leadership/supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment • Bachelor’s degree required (in a technical field is a plus) • Working knowledge of quality tools and SPC methods • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills • Demonstrated multitasking abilities • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Project management and quality system skills • Excellent computer skills to run multiple software applications, such as Excel, Word, Notes, etc. • Self-motivated with high attention to detail • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills No phone calls or third-party recruiters, please.
