SUMMARY

As a Quality Assurance Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our products meet and exceed industry standards for safety, quality, and consistency. You are responsible for developing and implementing quality management systems, conducting audits, handling regulatory and certification activities related to the products produced at the site, and providing guidance to our production teams.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in food science, quality assurance, or a related field
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in quality assurance within the food production industry
  • Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and quality control principles
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing quality management systems
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong leadership and communication abilities
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and precision
  • Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams
  • Certification in food safety and quality control (e.g., HACCP, SQF) is preferred
  • Proficient in using computer software and applications related to quality assurance
Responsibilities
  • Ensures compliance with government regulations (FDA, EPA, etc.), customer requirements and necessary certification bodies (i.e. SGS-FSSC 22000)
  • Adhere to ERU food safety policies and all government food safety and sanitation regulations (ex. FDA, HACCP, GMP, OSHA, GFSI, ORGANIC)
  • Conduct regular audits of production processes, procedures, and facilities to identify areas for improvement
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish quality control measures and monitor their effectiveness
  • Analyzes current systems and processes and develops recommendations for process improvements, waste reduction, and increased efficiencies
  • Create and revise policies, to train and educate employees on quality assurance processes, procedures, and techniques
  • Ensure development of direct reports to ensure stability and growth of the department
  • Investigate customer complaints and internal quality issues, and implement corrective actions and preventive measures
  • Conduct product inspections, sampling, and testing to ensure adherence to specifications and standards
  • Monitor and evaluate supplier performance to ensure the quality of incoming materials and ingredients
  • Lead customer, regulatory and certification audits
  • Collect, analyze, and report on quality performance data to identify trends and areas for improvement
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends, regulations, and best practices in quality assurance
