Quality Assurance Manager

Majestic Mushrooms Pty Ltd – Murrumbateman, NSW

Lead Food Safety, Quality & Export Compliance

Majestic Mushrooms is an established commercial mushroom producer supplying premium fresh mushrooms throughout Australia, with exciting plans to expand into international export markets.

We are seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Manager to lead our Food Safety and Quality Management Systems and help drive our next phase of growth.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys implementing world-class food safety systems, leading audits, developing people, and working closely with production teams to achieve continuous improvement.

The successful applicant will play a key role in developing export-ready quality systems while ensuring our products consistently meet Australian and international food safety requirements.

About the Role

Reporting directly to the General Manager, you will be responsible for all aspects of Quality Assurance, Food Safety and Regulatory Compliance across our growing, harvesting, packing, cold storage and dispatch operations.

You will lead our Quality Management System while working closely with production staff to build a strong food safety culture throughout the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and continually improve the company's Food Safety Management System.
  • Maintain HACCP, Freshcare and customer quality assurance programs.
  • Develop systems that comply with Australian export requirements and international customer standards.
  • Lead certification, surveillance, customer and regulatory audits.
  • Plan and conduct internal audits and supplier audits.
  • Maintain document control, SOPs, specifications and quality records.
  • Lead product traceability exercises and mock recalls.
  • Investigate customer complaints and implement effective corrective and preventative actions (CAPA).
  • Conduct risk assessments and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Coordinate environmental monitoring and microbiological verification programs.
  • Ensure calibration and verification of quality monitoring equipment.
  • Work closely with production, harvesting, maintenance and logistics teams to improve product quality.
  • Develop quality KPIs and provide regular management reporting.
  • Deliver food safety and quality training across all departments.
  • Liaise with customers, suppliers, auditors and regulatory authorities regarding quality matters.
