  POSITION SUMMARY The Quality Assurance Manager supports and enhances the organization’s Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure compliance, operational effectiveness, and continuous improvement. This role is responsible for the management of the quality engineering group, weld engineering group, as well as the documentation group. The position also drives QMS training initiatives and promotes a culture of quality throughout the organization. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES * Maintain and improve the Quality Management System in alignment with NQA-1, ISO 9000, AS9100, and other applicable standards. * Manage the quality engineering department to include being a partner to CFT leaders to ensure adequate quality engineering support to include workload balancing, training, and accountability to requirements and due dates as well as ensuring adequate staffing. * Manage the documentation group to include full responsibility for ensuring document packages are completed accurately and on time. * Management of the weld engineering team and responsibility to ensure proper training and staffing levels as well as overall responsibility for the management of PQRs and WPSs. * Participate in problem solving and continuous improvement initiatives. * Review and interpret specifications, codes, regulations, and contractual quality requirements. * Support continuous improvement initiatives and promote quality awareness across departments. QUALIFICATIONS – EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE * Bachelor’s degree in a technical field required (High school diploma with a minimum of eight years of quality-related experience may be considered in lieu of degree). * Minimum four years of quality engineering experience in a fabrication and machining environment (Eight years required if substituting education requirement). * Demonstrated experience working with codes, standards, specifications, inspection processes, and NDE. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & COMPETENCIES * Working knowledge of NQA-1, ISO 9000, and AS9100 standards. * Strong analytical skills with the ability to extract and apply quality requirements from complex documentation. * Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. * Ability to develop procedures, work instructions, and quality documentation. * Effective leadership and presentation skills for training and audit facilitation. * Strong communication skills with the ability to engage professionally at all organizational levels. PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCIES * Adaptable and capable of managing ambiguity. * Strong leadership skills, capable of managing a large team. * Professional and composed under pressure. * Effective in handling difficult or sensitive situations. * Able to provide constructive feedback and respond to inquiries in a professional manner. * Comfortable interacting with internal teams, customers, and external auditors. WORKING CONDITIONS Primarily office-based with occasional exposure to shop/manufacturing environments. EQUIPMENT USED Computer systems and related software, copier, and standard office equipment. AVAILABILITY & TRAVEL * Regular and reliable attendance required. * Willingness to work overtime as business needs dictate. * Ability to travel as required to support audits, customers, or business operations.
