SUMMARY:

As a Quality Assurance Manager at Space Information Laboratories, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the highest standards of quality and compliance with industry regulations in our production processes. You will lead a team of quality assurance professionals, oversee quality control procedures, and work closely with production teams to maintain the integrity of our products. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quality control, excellent leadership skills, and a commitment to upholding the company’s reputation for excellence.

EXPERIENCE

A minimum of 5 years of experience in Quality Assurance or Quality Management, with at least 2 years in a leadership or managerial capacity

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • In-depth knowledge of Quality Management Systems (QMS), AS9100D standards, and relevant aerospace industry regulations
  • Strong leadership and management skills to guide and motivate the team towards achieving quality objectives
  • Ability to analyze complex quality issues, identify root causes, and implement effective corrective actions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to convey technical information and conduct training sessions effectively.
  • Proven ability to handle and resolve quality-related challenges in a dynamic engineering and manufacturing environment.

EDUCATION

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field is required
  • A Master’s degree in Quality Management or a relevant discipline is preferred

ITAR REQUIREMENTS

To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, applicant must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by ITAR (22 CFR§120.15) or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check.
  • Must be eligible to obtain a security clearance.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and mentor a team of quality assurance professionals
  • Provide guidance, training, and support to ensure the team’s effectiveness and adherence to quality standards.
  • Conduct training sessions to educate staff at all levels about the Quality Management System and AS9100D requirements, fostering a deep understanding and commitment to compliance
  • Develop and implement quality control processes and procedures, through an effective Quality Management System (QMS), to monitor and maintain the quality of components and systems throughout the product lifecycle
  • Conduct inspections and tests of the components, assemblies, and finished products to ensure they meet established standards and specifications
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of quality control activities, test results, and non-conformance reports. Ensure all documentation is in compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Identify areas for process improvement within the production workflow and collaborate with relevant teams to implement corrective actions and preventive measures.
  • Stay current with industry regulations and quality standards relevant to aerospace manufacturing.
  • Ensure that the company’s processes and products adhere to all relevant quality and safety standards within the aerospace industry.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to establish and maintain quality standards for incoming materials and components. Conduct supplier audits when necessary.
  • Investigate, analyze, and resolve non-conformance issues, implementing corrective and preventive actions to address root causes and prevent recurrence
  • Foster effective communication between the quality assurance team, production teams, and other relevant departments to address quality-related issues promptly.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance processes, product quality, and overall efficiency
  • Conduct regular internal audits to assess compliance with QMS procedures and AS9100D requirements, recommending improvements where necessary
  • Identify potential risks and implement risk mitigation strategies to prevent quality- related issues.
