Description

The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for the regulatory oversight and monitoring of the processes, procedures, and efficiencies of the Company’s quality management system in accordance with AS9110C, government regulations, engineering specifications, and internal quality assurance standards. SKILLS AND/OR QUALIFICATIONS

  • Aviation experience required.
  • Strong knowledge of AS9110C, FAA part 91 regulations, and FAA Order 8130-2.
  • Ability to listen, analyze, and communicate new solutions for assessing project performance and customer satisfaction.
  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines while fostering a positive attitude.
  • Must be able to demonstrate exemplary customer service.
  • Proficient in the English language with excellent verbal and written communication skills.

EDUCATION AND/OR WORK EXPERIENCE

  • 10 years Quality Assurance experience
  • 5 years managing quality organization experience
  • Bachelor degree preferred

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

The Quality Assurance Manager must be able to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time, hear, and speak clearly. This role may be performed around loud noises and hazardous chemicals with exposure to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals.

Responsibilities
  • Work with operating staff to establish procedures, standards and systems to ensure consistency across operating locations, leverage expertise and experience, and to support compliance, communication, and collaboration between departments.
  • Ensure Maintenance and Logistics departments follow established procedures and meet established performance objectives.
  • Ensure Quality Assurance Representative (QAR) duties are overseen to support ongoing improvements to the Quality System.
  • Establish qualification requirements for QARs and provide ongoing mentorship and coaching to ensure continuous qualification and performance standards are me.
  • Oversee the Quality Management System (QMS) - AS9110C and Quality Assurance Audit Program.
  • Report on the performance of the QMS and opportunities for improvement to senior management.
  • Audit and inspect the QMS to ensure standards, compliance, and other requirements are preserved during maintenance or system changes.
  • Provide monthly Quality Assurance reports to senior leadership and the DoD as required.
  • Ensure personnel follow OSHA and OH&S requirements, have access to and wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as appropriate, accessibility to safety systems, and properly maintained tools.
  • Ensure personnel are provided with applicable safety information and participate in training and instruction.
  • Support and consult with OH&S committees and representatives regarding workplace improvements and safety inspections when organized.
  • As a representative of the Safety Team, promote and participate in the use of the Safety Management System (SMS):
  • Establish and demonstrate a culture of continuous improvement by providing personnel with the knowledge and skills needed to participate in the Company’s SMS, set clear expectations, and encourage participation in improvement activities.
  • Direct safety initiatives and review SMS goals and progress toward achievement.
  • Coordinate implementation and execution of common SMS elements to all operating locations.
  • Communicate safety risks to personnel and their roles and responsibilities related to such risks.
  • Manage functions related to the airworthiness safety aspects of the SMS including, but not limited to:
  • Implementation of risk assessment, risk reduction and airworthiness safety enhancement processes and improvement initiatives.
  • Provide guidance and feedback to the Chief of Safety and senior leadership on the SMS implementation progress and effectiveness.
  • Assist site management with airworthiness safety performance oversight and monitoring.
  • Serve as point of contact regulatory/oversight authorities for the operating location.
  • Participate in Vendor/Supplier auditing, approval and monitoring.
  • Ensure personnel comply with applicable safety laws and regulations.
  • Ensure processes are deliver intended outcomes and conform to required standards.
  • Accountable for the continuous monitoring, review, improvement, and promotion of the corrective action process.
