Summary of Responsibilities
This position is responsible for the overall management, implementation and compliance of the UUSA Quality Assurance Program Description. This position maintains audit responsibilities for functions the facility line managers and their staff that are responsible for performing quality-affecting work. This position interfaces with employees and managers at all levels of the organization and externally with vendors and governmental agencies. This position adheres to the foundational behaviors, company values and Urenco behaviors.
Education and Experience

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering or scientific field

Experience

  • 6-8 years of responsible nuclear experience in the implementation of a Quality Assurance program
  • At least 4 years of experience in a Quality Assurance organization at a nuclear facility
  • 2 years of management experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or scientific field and a Master’s degree in business, regulatory affairs, engineering or scientific field
  • More than 8 years of responsible nuclear experience in the implementation of a Quality Assurance program, 8-10 years of direct work experience
  • At least 4 years of experience in a Quality Assurance organization at a Part 50 or Part 70 nuclear facility
  • 4 or more years of management experience
  • NQA-1 and ISO Lead Auditor qualifications

  • The work location for this position is Urenco USA, Eunice, NM
  • Work Schedule: Professional work schedule/ with minimal night/ weekend support. Some nights and weekend work may be required. Employees are also subject to call-outs as needed.
  • Travel Required: 20% of the time or less as required.
  • Security Clearance Requirement: Controlled Access Area (CAA) Access and an L or Q level security clearance is required.

Primary Functions

  • Ensure the Quality Assurance Programs are effectively being implemented by performing audits and surveillances.
  • Manage and Implement the Site Quality Control Program. Ensure receipt inspections are performed and QC verifications are performed in site work processes.
  • Maintain the QA procedures, reports and schedules in accordance with site processes.
  • Ensure quality staff are trained and possess certifications including those of the Quality Assurance Manager.
  • Ensure the Approved Suppliers List is maintained.
  • Perform Audits, Surveillances and author audit reports.
  • Ensure procurement processes and Commercial Grade Dedication practices are adhered to.
  • Report to senior management on the performance of the quality management systems and any need for improvement, and ensure awareness of customer requirements throughout the organization exists.
  • Interface with supplier and customer quality representatives concerning problems with quality control and assure that effective corrective action is implemented.
  • Provides team leadership, training, coaching and mentoring.
  • Creates and develops an effective and aligned team and sets challenging goals and expectations for staff.
  • Ensures positive behaviors are exhibited by staff.
  • Develops and manages the Quality Assurance budget.
  • As a collaborative member of the UUSA Site Leadership Team, supports site and corporate strategies and initiatives, models our cultural values, and drives accountability to meet our key results.
  • In the absence of the Compliance manager may serve as Acting Compliance manager.
  • This position is separate from and independent from management positions at the site to ensure it has sufficient independence for all issues affecting quality. This position has a line of communication with the Chief Nuclear Officer and President and Chief Executive Officer for quality concerns with Performance Assessment and Feedback or Safety and to have adequate stop work authority for all quality related areas at the site.
