POSITION SUMMARY:
This position will manage all aspects of the QMS and its extended reach into our critical customer’s products. The candidate will manage all Quality Staff, and serve as the main point of contact when troubleshooting customer complaints. The ideal candidate is adept at building strong relationships with customers, generating continuous improvements and managing the QMS system. In addition, the Quality Manager will handle corrective actions, create and update all documentation, and lead all system and process audits both internal and external.
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
· 6+ years of Quality Engineer or 2+ years of Quality Manager experience with printed circuit board build processes and surface mount manufacturing, specifically within the defense/aerospace and medical industries preferred.
· Previous “hands on” experience with ISO 9001:2015 and AS9100D certification requirements.
· Understanding of IPC-A-610 and J-STD-001 requirements for solder quality and workmanship.
· Knowledge of electronic component parts, assembly techniques and processes including printed circuit board, surface mount, through-hole, and cable and harness assemblies.
· Able to read and interpret complex drawings, blue prints, schematics and other documentation as necessary.
· Must display a strong sense of self awareness & show tact, diplomacy and patience, whether with peers, direct reports, other departments or customers.
· Knowledge and experience with Corrective and Preventive action, root-cause analysis, and internal and external audits.
· Must have experience developing procedures to continue the advancement of the QMS.
· Must have the ability to design materials for educational and other purposes, using Microsoft Office products, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
· Must be able to comprehend and effectively communicate in English, both written and verbal as it pertains to the job duties.
· Must demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and employee relations skills required.
· Previous experience in quality management roles in similar environments (CCA and/or PWB manufacturing) preferred.
· Bachelor’s Degree in related field, preference in engineering or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
· Recent active audit experience in related field of the applicable certifications
· Must be a United States citizen or possess a permanent right to work visa (green card). Citizenship preferred.
· Oversee all current certifications including ongoing audits and continuing the Company’s certifications as follows:
o ISO 9001:2015
o AS9100D
o ISO 13485:2016
· Formulate, document and maintain quality control standards using the QMS as the controlled system.
· Track and perform trend analysis on quality performance identifying opportunities for continuous improvement. Prepare reports illustrating root cause analysis, risk analysis, statistical methods.
· Provide internal and external customer service. Investigate and correct customer issues and complaints relating to quality in an expedited fashion.
· Determine root cause to problems, collaborating with other organizations to remedy in a timely fashion.
· Build and extend strong relationships with customers, vendors and employees.
· Maintain and control the systemic calibration of all equipment.
· Manage the Training, DMR and MRB processes.
· Performs various other tasks as assigned by the Director of Quality.
