We are seeking a Quality Assurance Officer to support delivery of the Victorian Road Maintenance Contract (VRMC). This role provides independent assurance that works are delivered in line with contractual requirements, specifications and approved work practices. You will work closely with delivery teams, supervisors and client stakeholders to verify quality outcomes and support continuous improvement across maintenance and capital works. The role has a strong field presence and balances independence with collaboration. Key responsibilities * Conduct audits, inspections and surveillance across road maintenance and capital works  * Verify compliance with VRMC contract requirements, DTP specifications and Quality Plans  * Review completed works to ensure durability, fitness for purpose and audit readiness  * Identify non‑conformances, raise corrective actions and track close‑out  * Analyse trends in defects and rework to support improved delivery performance  * Provide practical guidance to crews and supervisors to promote first‑time quality What you’ll bring * Experience in quality assurance, auditing or inspections within road maintenance or civil works  * Sound understanding of quality systems and compliance frameworks (ISO‑aligned desirable)  * Confidence managing non‑conformances and engaging with client audit processes  * Clear, professional communicator with a practical, improvement‑focused mindset  * Certificate IV or Diploma in Quality, Civil Construction, Engineering or a related field (desirable)   Downer is a company that believes people are our greatest asset.
