In this respect the role is crucial to the key strategic objective of LCC going forward to meet specific requirements set by BIS, HEFCE and QAA. Internally, the role is about the enhancement of learning, teaching and assessment across the provision underpinned by improvement in year-on-year targets.

  • Role Title: Quality Assurance Officer
  • Reports To:

Head of Quality ,Assurance and Compliance

  • Key Purposes of the role Support the HoQA in preparation and coordination of the processes related to external review and internal audit.
  • Produce and/or update the quality assurance manual annually or whenever required.
  • Ensure implementation of internal and external verification systems.
  • Review and monitor progress on the College action plans (at programme level and at College level) in response to various internal and external reports (such as QAA report, external examiner reports, reports from awarding bodies).
  • Provide commentary on accuracy of data presented in the various reports (such as REP Reports, College AMR) and achievement the KPIs.
  • Comment on various operational manual describing the processes, policies and procedrues.
  • Ensure all policies and procedrues are updated annually and final copies are distributed widely to all relevant staff.
  • Perform management checks on the following: HEAPES Return
  • HESA Return
  • Progression and achievement data
  • Timeliness of various deliberate meetings (such as College Oversight Board, Academic Board, Programme Committee, Assessment Board, other deliberate committees).
  • Any other duties as assigned by the HoQA and/or Principal and directors.
  • Essential Requirements: Education to degree level or equivalent;
  • Understanding of Higher Education and academic quality assurance;
  • Knowledge of other external agencies relating to HE e.g. UCAS, UKVI etc;
  • Previous experience in an Educational or related quality assurance role;
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
