ARE YOU LOOKING FOR AN OPPORTUNITY TO BUILD YOUR QUALITY ASSURANCE SKILLSET AND WOULD LIKE TO USE YOUR KNOWLEDGE TO HELP MAKE A POSITIVE DIFFERENCE IN OUR NSW SOCIAL HOUSING MAINTENANCE DELIVERY?
Homes NSW is an Agency of the Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ). Our vision is for NSW to be a place where everyone has access to safe and secure housing, and where experiences of homelessness are rare, brief, and non-recurring.
We lead work to deliver more quality social housing to our 262,000 tenants across NSW, empowering our tenants to live fulfilling lives and achieve their potential in inclusive communities with a focus on breaking, rather than managing disadvantage.
We strive for excellence in service delivery and most importantly, Homes NSW puts people at the heart – including our staff. Working for us means you are joining a team where your expertise and skills will be valued.
This role is located within the Compliance Program team; this team manages delivery of the following statewide programs:
Main responsibilities involved are planning and conducting Quality Assurance (QA) and onsite audit inspections across these programs, and the issuance of audit findings and reports, including close-out with relevant service providers as part of continuous improvement. The role requires statewide travel including overnight stay where necessary, for the purposes of onsite audits.

WHAT YOU’LL DO
In your role, you will meticulously plan and execute QA site and desktop audits across NSW using a combination of computer-aided auditing techniques (CAAT) and traditional methods. Your responsibilities include generating audit reports to identify non-compliances.
To ensure a systematic approach, you will prepare audit plans using data stratification and sample extraction methods, coordinating inspection schedules and organising access appointments promptly. Closing out audit findings involves collating and summarising outcomes to liaise with relevant Service Providers according to the Performance Management Framework (PMF) of relevant contracts.
Additionally, you will play a crucial role in training and accrediting external service providers, ensuring consistent and thorough resource inductions to meet program objectives at high standards. Providing advice to develop and issue Clarification and Practice notes to Service Providers on compliance and upgrade programs is part of your role, aiming to clarify requirements and ensure consistency.
As a specialist, you will offer guidance on internal control and actively participate in enhancing internal audit standards and practices within Housing Portfolio. Lastly, you will provide advice, reports, and feedback on compliance issues to key stakeholders in a manner that contributes to positive relationship building and supports an ongoing effective and efficient working environment.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN THIS ROLE. WE LOOK FORWARD TO RECEIVING YOUR APPLICATION.
