POSITION SUMMARY: The Quality Assurance Supervisor provides leadership for the development, implementation, and administration of the QA function to ensure product safety, conformity, and integrity with respect to the customer, company, and regulatory requirements. The Quality Assurance Supervisor is responsible for ensuring proper maintenance of existing programs (HACCP, PCQI, GMPs, Pest Control, etc.) while overseeing the development and maintenance of quality documentation, translation of sanitation guidelines into company policies, management of audits conducted by third-party inspectors.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage a team of QA/QC employees.
  • Thorough knowledge of hygiene, HACCP, GMPs, Pest Control, Recall, Auditing, Cleaning and Allergen Management as well as other pre-requisite programs as they relate to food industry.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel.
  • Experience in maintaining Global Food Safety Certification
  • Excellent knowledge of how production processes affect the quality of product.
  • Ability to multi-task and possess good organizational and prioritization skills and the flexibility to adapt to a fast paced, changing work environment.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Time management and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) in agricultural engineering, food science, chemistry, food microbiology, or another relevant technical field.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in food manufacturing in a Quality Assurance/Quality Control capacity.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory/management experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of HACCP, GMP’s, PCQI, OSHA, Auditing, and Plant Sanitation

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:

Normal office conditions apply. Employee must have clear, close vision for reading and computer work. Must be able to sit, stand, walk, balance, stoop, grasp, talk, hear and operate computer keyboard. Job may require reaching at shoulder level and below waist
