POSITION SUMMARY

The Quality Assurance (QA) Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily QA operations, ensuring compliance with Health Canada Cannabis Regulations, CFIA, GFSI standards (BRC/SQF), HACCP, GMP, and company policies. This role provides leadership to QA staff and supports the continuous improvement of food safety and quality systems.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Engineering, or related field.
  • 3+ years of QA/QC experience in food, beverage, nutraceutical, or cannabis manufacturing.
  • Strong analysis skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments..

Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervise QA Technicians and daily quality operations.
  • Ensure compliance with HACCP, GMP, and GFSI (BRC/SQF) programs.
  • Conduct audits, inspections, and verifications of production and sanitation.
  • Review and approve batch records, labels, and quality documentation.
  • Investigate non-conformances, deviations, and customer complaints.
  • Implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Provide training to staff on quality and food safety programs.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and prepare quality reports.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance policies and procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Conduct regular quality inspections and audits throughout the manufacturing process to identify areas for improvement.
  • Analyze data from quality control tests and inspections to identify trends, root causes, and areas of concern.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address quality issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Manage projects related to quality improvement initiatives, ensuring timely completion and adherence to objectives.
  • Train and mentor staff on quality assurance practices, fostering a culture of continuous improvement within the organization.
  • Prepare detailed reports on quality metrics, presenting findings to management and stakeholders.
