Description

Carleton Cakes is an Irish owned family company specializing in the production of pre-portioned tray-bakes for our Carleton brand and are also proud to have been selected as a manufacturing partner for the UK’s leading coffee chains and other selected partners.
We are seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Technician to join our expanding quality department. Reporting to the Quality Manager, the successful candidate will be a self-motivated individual who can work independently within our fast-paced food manufacturing environment and will help to ensure that the quality of products is upheld at all times. The shift times for this position operate on a 3-week rotation: 6am - 2pm; 2pm - 11pm; 8am - 5pm.

REQUIREMENTS

  • 1-2 years experience in a QC or QA role
  • 3rd level qualification in relevant discipline (e.g. Food Science/Food Manufacturing/Food Safety) desirable
  • Working knowledge of BRC, HACCP and Food legislation an advantage
  • Be self-motivated with the ability to learn quickly
  • Excellent English written and verbal communication skills
  • Good computer skills in MS Office suite
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to prioritize

  • Conduct process control checks on raw/semi-processed and finished product, ensuring product specifications are met.
  • Report findings on quality issues, liaising with Production, Packing and Quality Managers
  • Product acceptability and shelf-life sampling
  • Hygiene checks
  • Maintain Factory records for Quality Management System
