Description The individual will join our Centrotherm Operations Team reporting to our Quality Manager. The ideal candidate is responsible for maintaining quality standards and processes and assures the production of quality products. This is accomplished by using inspecting, testing, sorting, sampling, or weighing processed, machined, fabricated, or assembled parts or products for defects, wear, and deviations from specifications. Assists in achieving Centrotherm's priorities of safety, quality, schedule, and cost. This position is for our A Shift, Monday - Friday 7:00 am - 3:30 pm. Job duties: Perform inspections of production setups against work instructions to help ensure first part quality Perform first part, random or final inspections comparing part to mechanical drawings based on sampling plan Perform inspections on incoming raw materials and finished goods per the sampling plan Discard or reject products, materials, or equipment not meeting specifications. Collect or select samples for testing or for use as models. Compare shapes, textures, or grades of products or materials with color charts, templates, or samples to verify conformance to standards. Accurately enters information on production and quality control into the computer system in real-time Identify, document, and report any quality problems to the Production and Quality Manager Recommend necessary corrective actions, based on inspection results. Maintain a safe work environment and follow all published/posted safety standards Work with the quality manager to help maintain calibrated measuring tools and equipment including working with outside calibration vendors. Perform any reasonable request, within qualifications, by the Manager and/or Supervisor(s), necessary for the smooth, efficient operation of the factory and consistent production Other duties as required by the Shift Supervisor or the Production Manager which could include material handling, inventory control, etc. Requirements Job Requirements: Commitment to workplace safety A high school degree is required. Ability to read mechanical drawings Ability to use a variety of measuring devices such as pie tapes, calipers, and gauge blocks Prior quality experience Basic computer skills are required including knowledge of excel, word, and outlook Customer Focus - Achieving Company, department, and personal goals through a strong customer focus. Sustained mental and visual attention to detail Good communicator and self-motivated. Must be able to follow verbal and written communications/directions Physical Requirements: Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms and talk or hear Regularly lift and/or move objects 10-50lbs occasionally lift and/or move objects that weigh more than 100 lbs. Frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl Occasionally required to sit and climb or balance Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust and focus.
