Description Job Summary: This position will involve functions for incoming, set-up, in-process, and final assembly inspections at both Weber Knapp facilities. Function of Position: Interpretation of blueprint dimensional and functional requirements Perform set-up approval and in-process/roaming inspections on jobs for all departments Perform necessary final inspections of completed orders Perform incoming inspections of purchased components Assist in calibration of measuring equipment Assist in troubleshooting of set-up and in-process quality issues Input and maintain data in Non-Conforming Material database Maintain communication and interaction with shift supervisors, department foreperson, inspection personnel, QC Manager, Manufacturing Engineering, and Product Design on critical dimensions, non-conforming material, and troubleshooting dimensional issues Setup and run coordinate measuring machine and interpret dimensional results Perform other functions relating to the quality assurance and inspection area as required This position will report to the Quality Assurance Manager. Requirements Required Skills: Ability to read blueprints Ability to read and interpret measurement devices, including but not limited to: calipers, micrometers, and height gauges Familiarity with basic manufacturing processes such as metal stamping, metal forming, welding, and machining Windows PC experience Experience with Microsoft Excel and Word Ability to perform shop math Ability to prioritize and multi-task Ability to work independently Ability to communicate well Willingness to learn new skills Preferred Skills: Understanding of statistical principles for process control Familiarity with 2D/3D CAD software such as AutoCAD and SolidWorks Experience with PC-DMIS and programming coordinate measuring machines Experience/Education: 1-2 years of experience in manufacturing setting High school diploma or equivalent Completion of related vocational certificate or associate program a plus
