Description

Team members in this role will be expected to contribute to maintaining a high-quality work environment at N.E.W. Plastics Corp (RENEW Plastics). This position works cooperatively and effectively with others in the organization, sharing information to enable others to do their jobs, and displaying good customer service to our internal and external customers consistent with our values.
Responsible for assuring all customer and company quality standards are being satisfied through a well-defined validation process for incoming and in-use materials, and in-process quality inspection processes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: **Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.
· Perform incoming materials and finished goods inspections and tests.
· Compile Certificates of Analysis.
· Proficient use of various inspection and test methods and equipment
· Understands basic Statistical Process Control
· Plan-Do-Check-Act problem solving process.
· Issue Quality Holds and perform follow up inspections and test for compliance with requirements.
· Maintain hard copy and electronic records.
· Maintain product specifications and drawings.
· Understand customer quality requirements to support daily decision making.
· Responsible for the development, review, and implementation of company Quality Management System policies, procedures, plans, and work instructions.
· Determining quality system improvements and implementing change.
· Develop and adopt best practices in the field.
· Initiate corrective actions and verification procedures.
· Validates quality processes by establishing product specifications and quality attributes, measuring production, documenting evidence, determining operational and performance qualification.
· Maintains and improves product quality by completing audits and investigating customer complaints.
· Collaborates with other members of management to develop new product and engineering designs.
· Prepares quality documentation and reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends including failed processes, stability studies, recalls, corrective actions, and re-validations.
· Makes fit-for-purpose decisions on quality acceptance/rejections if disputes arise.
· Coordinates calibration activities to assure requirements are met.
· Provide input on quality metrics as determined by product test results.
· Aides all departments in root cause determinations and corrective actions.
· Maintains a commitment to and promotes the company vision statement and the Quality Policy of the organization. Support company goals and objectives.
· Handle multiple communications with both internal and external counterparts within the organization.
· Maintains inspection of quality tools and equipment.
· Interpret and analyze information, provide technical advice.
· Performs a variety of qualitative tests or qualitative documentation to ensure compliance to internal and external specification.
· Provide input to engineers to assist in the development or improvement to finished goods through verification testing of new products and product changes.
· This position is responsible for supporting product verification and validation activities.
· Supports activities related to Process Controls, Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing Concepts.
· Complaint Management – support Customer Service Representatives (CSR) by investigating, monitoring, and maintaining assigned Support Issues.
· Evaluate, inspect, and test product having to do with returns associated with a complaint.
· Support Issue tasks include but are not limited to initiating Nonconformance Reports (NCR), Supplier Corrective Action Reports (SCAR), Material Review Board (MRB), Returned Material Authorization (RMA) as needed.
· Support internal and external customers by investigating and performing various data analysis for fact gathering, trouble shooting, root cause analysis and inputs into the Corrective/Preventive Action feedback system.

Qualification/Requirements: **To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Be able to pass a basic role assessment.

  • Proficient in basic mathematics (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages, fractions, proportions, and statistics) to practical situations. Utilize calipers and other measure equipment accurately and consistently. Comprehend conversions between metric and imperial measuring systems. Be able to understand, run and interpret laboratory equipment to support quality decisions.
  • Proficient interpreting a variety of instructions furnished in written, picture, oral, diagram or schedule format.
  • Proficient in computers and utilizing Microsoft Office Software.
  • Must have strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Must have ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Flexibility to work off-shifts periodically to support training and other related quality initiatives.
