POSITION SUMMARY:

The QA Technician reports to the FSQA Manager and works on ensuring that quality standards and procedures are met and aligned with all QA related SOPs and SSOPs.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:

  • 1-3 years of quality assurance or food manufacturing experience.
  • Undergraduate degree or Diploma in Food Science, Microbiology, Engineering, or any related field.
  • Thorough understanding of GMP’s, Food Safety and Sanitation programs.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the monitoring and verification (onsites and document review) of nightly sanitation activities to ensure the implementation and compliance to written programs.
  • Responsible for the sanitation contractor’s adherence to the written programs and SSOPs
  • Verification of the effectiveness of non-daily frequencies
  • Responsible for performing pre-operational inspection procedures to verify the effectiveness of sanitation procedures and ensures.
  • Responsible for the implementation of the environmental monitoring program (including swabbing and testing of product/equipment).
  • Completing follow ups with sanitation on any failed swab results.
  • Responsible for the communication and presentation of results of onsite activities during sanitation to the management team to ensure management oversight of sanitation activities and the sanitation program
  • Responsible for nightly shift reports to report on items audited, onsites, and updates, changes, or support required from management
  • Complete SSOP manual review annually and update SSOP’s as required.
  • Attending sanitation meetings and bringing forward any concerns related to the sanitation program.
  • Training and updating Sanitation employees on any relevant procedures.
  • Ensuring the tool control program is followed and effectively managed.
  • Perform verification of scales, thermometers and verify production records, calibration records and QA records.
  • Conducting oil free fatty acid checks
  • Monitor GMP’s during sanitation
  • Completing audits on defined frequency.
  • Entering sanitation data into the system.
