QA TECHNICIAN - STUDENT CO-OP

We have an exciting opportunity available to join our QA Team for a summer student or Co-op placement (May through August 2025).
The QA Technician is responsible for completing daily quality inspections on all meat products processed in our Stoney Creek facility. The successful candidate must be able to work from 7:00am - 3:30pm, and be flexible to work afternoons and occasional weekends.

PREVIOUS WORK TERM EXPERIENCE IN QUALITY ASSURANCE AND/OR QUALITY CONTROL AT A FOOD MANUFACTURING FACILITY WOULD BE AN ASSET

Strong knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP)
Exceptional attention to detail and ability to read, analyze and interpret technical procedures

Responsibilities

Monitor adherence to, and work with Production Supervisors to correct GMP and SOP deficiencies
Monitor and verify CCPs during production; in-process documentation
Conduct routine quality line checks
Conduct GMP, SOP training for all staff as needed; update training records
Perform finished product audits to verify compliance with finished product specifications
Collect samples for microbiology analysis using aseptic techniques
Perform environmental swabbing as per schedule, records and interprets the testing results
General housekeeping of laboratory; calibrate and maintain testing equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability of QC procedures
Maintain records of test logs, audits and other quality procedures
Assist in product development, plant trials and quality improvement projects as required
Perform other QA/QC functions as directed by Director, Quality Assurance & Food Safety
