Our Bolton site is currently seeking a QA Technologist for the back shift.
Hours: Core hours – Monday to Friday, 14:00 - 22:00. Flexibility is fundamental to carry out this role as the candidate will be required to cover holidays and absence, within a reasonable notice period, across all shifts. Weekend working during peak operational periods may also be required.
Purpose: To audit, monitor, improve and evaluate quality systems and procedures and provide technical support for the operational teams while maintaining and promoting technical and quality standards in line with business needs and customer requirements with guidance from QA Supervisor / Manager.
The Role: You will be responsible for ensuring that all product and process comply with food safety, legality and quality requirements throughout all stages of the production process. In addition, you will:
· Conduct sampling of raw materials in low risk/ high care, finished product, shelf-life samples, environmental swabs, listeria swabs, hand swabs, air plates and water samples as per defined frequency
· Assess the quality of raw materials to define the accuracy of intake checks
· Conduct audits against Quality Management Systems, GMP, HACCP, fabrication and hygiene, reporting findings and monitoring corrective actions to ensure the site remains complaint
· Conduct daily paperwork audits to ensure all due diligence parameters are met. To identify, report and establish corrective actions to all non-conformances
· Conduct a daily factory walkaround to support production team to ensure products are manufactured in a smooth flow
· Observe and ensure good personal hygiene and GMP standards are maintained in the factory
· Monitor product quality through taste panels and factory observations
· Complete investigations for out of specification results and complaints and support the operations team in completing incident investigations
· To support the Factory teams by providing technical support and advice on a daily basis
The Candidate: Previous Technical experience is desired. You will have:
· A self-organised approach, with strong time management and prioritisation skills
· Good work ethic
· Flexible approach and be willing to adapt ways of working to support team requirements
· Able to communicate clearly at all levels within the business
· A Can-Do attitude with a right first-time approach to ways of working
· An ability to solve problems and be part of a team to present and deliver solutions
· Good standard of spoken and written English
· IT literate, minimum word, excel and PowerPoint
· The ability to challenge factory standards and provide support for corrective action
· A proactive approach to prevent issues from occurring, with innovative thinking
