Description Ascentec Engineering is hiring! We are seeking a Quality Calibration Technician for our precision machine shop servicing high tech markets. This is a critical position and presents a great opportunity for someone to provide final assurance to our valued customers that their products meet the highest quality standards possible. This position is onsite (not remote/not hybrid) at our Tualatin, Oregon headquarters and is not eligible for Visa sponsorship or transfer of Visa sponsorship. Requirements Primary Responsibilities: Calibrate and maintain measuring and test equipment at the Tualatin and Dallas facilities to ensure accuracy, repeatability, and compliance with quality standards for all inspection tools and devices Administer and track calibrated tooling sent to third-party calibration providers, ensuring timely return, proper certification, and record retention Utilize GageTrak calibration management software to schedule, monitor, and document calibration intervals, status, and traceability Coordinate and schedule CMM calibrations with ZEISS, ensuring equipment compliance with internal requirements and applicable quality standards Perform machine capability analysis using Ballbar and backlash testing in support of production and continuous improvement initiatives Support quality documentation activities including FAIRs (First Article Inspection Reports), LAIRs (Last Article Inspection Reports), and document reviews, as well as additional quality or company needs as required Position Requirements: Extremely detail oriented and focused on maintaining consistent quality standards Ability to read, understand, and interpret internal and customer-provided mechanical prints including GD&T Strong communication skills and ability to work as a team member when parts or assemblies are determined to be out of tolerance Experience with a wide variety of metrology equipment including CMMs, Optical comparators, calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and bore gauges Experience working within an ISO 9001 registered organization Flexible work hours Preference will be given to candidates with prior machinist experience Personal Qualifications: Strong decision-making skills Self-Starter / Self-Motivated Reliable and Dependable Positive Attitude Enjoys a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment Honest with good Integrity Professional demeanor and respectful to people in all situations Team player Working Conditions: Works in a machine shop environment. Responsibilities
The technician will calibrate and maintain measuring and test equipment across Tualatin and Dallas facilities to ensure accuracy and compliance with quality standards. This includes administering third-party calibrations, utilizing GageTrak software, and coordinating CMM calibrations.
