QUALITY CONTROL ANALYST-FOOD:

On behalf of our Retail client, Procom is searching for a Quality Control Analyst-Food for a 3 month contract role. This position is an onsite position at our client’s Edmonton, Alberta office.

QUALITY CONTROL ANALYST-FOOD - JOB DESCRIPTION:

We are currently seeking a temporary resource to fill the role of Quality Control Analyst within our Merchandising Department, as a replacement for an employee who is presently on leave. This role involves ensuring the quality and safety of food products through inspection, documentation, and communication with relevant teams.

QUALITY CONTROL ANALYST-FOOD - MANDATORY SKILLS:

• Proficient use of appropriate QC equipment
• General understanding of Food Safety Requirements
• Previous Food QC experience
• Ability to work with a team
• Ability to communicate effectively, both oral and written
• Ability to adapt to rapidly changing environment and workloads
• Ability to work independently and be self-motivated

QUALITY CONTROL ANALYST-FOOD – NICE-TO-HAVE SKILLS:

• Experience in a unionized environment
• Familiarity with government inspection processes
• Experience with cold chain management
• Problem-solving skills
• Ability to build relationships with vendors and government agencies

• Inspect inbound product according to established Standard Operating Procedures and specifications
• Reject and document product that does not meet specifications
• Monitor inventory by completing daily cooler inspections
• Verify weight, temperature, size, and integrity of product
• Identify superior quality of product and communicate to relevant teams
• Inspect and ripen bananas and avocados as applicable
• Facilitate returns to vendors and complete documentation
