What You’ll Do Work within Compliance Department on various pre-funding and post-closing Quality Control (QC) audits. Responsibilities include conducting daily mortgage file audits and providing important and timely feedback to the operation staff, preventing mortgage loans from closing with significant defects such as misrepresentation, inaccurate data, and/or inadequate documentation, working with third-party post-fund QC vendor, reviewing and remediating deficiencies identified by the third-party post-fund QC vendor, communicating deficiencies to the appropriate parties and otherwise facilitating corrective action as appropriate. Will provide recommendations regarding deficiencies and identify training needs for various roles within the Company including Sales and Operations functions. Responsibilities Perform pre-funding QC audits of loans final underwriting approved, but not yet closed. Review and remediate audit findings from third-party QC vendor. Summarize and log audit findings in the QC System for reporting purposes. Participate in the development of future enhancements to the loan audit process. Conduct vendor sampling audits of third-party QC vendor All other compliance related assignments as required for agency/regulatory compliance. Requirements Bachelor’s degree preferred. 5 Years mortgage experience with an emphasis in Processing, Underwriting or Auditing being preferred, including knowledge of Conventional, FHA, VA and USDA guidelines. Knowledge of Encompass Database software. Microsoft Office Suites. Broad understanding of residential mortgage loans and familiarity with mortgage loan products. Knowledge and understanding of regulatory requirements applicable to mortgage lending and other mortgage related laws and regulations. Moderate to advanced compliance knowledge within the financial services industry. Familiar with FNMA, FHLMC, VA, and USDA QC requirements. Excellent verbal and written skills. Strong analytical and organizational skills. Ability to analyze and calculate income, to analyze residential mortgage appraisals, and excellent attention to detail and ability to “read between the lines”. Ability to interpret rules, regulations and guidelines and apply the interpretation to business processes. Positive attitude, planning and execution, strong work ethic.
