Description
The Role Based primarily at our Distribution Centre in Truganina, with two days per week at our Support Office in Malvern, we have a great opportunity for an experienced and detail-oriented Quality Control Co-ordinator to join the GAZMAN team. This role is available as either part-time (3–4 days per week, with Monday and Friday being essential) or full-time (5 days per week). In this role, you will work closely with our Product and QA teams at the Support Office to conduct thorough inspections of incoming bulk shipments, maintain accurate documentation, support the resolution of store-level quality issues, and collaborate with both internal teams and external suppliers to ensure all products meet GAZMAN’s quality standards and relevant Australian regulations. Responsibilities will include but not limited to: Conduct inspections of incoming bulk shipments at the Distribution Centre to ensure compliance with GAZMAN quality standards and approved reference samples Coordinate and schedule inspection activities with the Distribution Centre, shipping, and production teams Report inspection outcomes, non-conformances, and quality concerns to the QA Manager in a timely manner Maintain accurate and systematic inspection records and documentation to ensure traceability and compliance Visit stores when required to assess product issues, conduct inspections, and collect faulty samples Monitor and analyse faulty returns and store feedback to identify recurring quality issues and trends Communicate with suppliers regarding quality concerns and recommend corrective actions where required Review supplier AQL inspection reports and laboratory test reports, providing timely feedback and approvals Track and follow up on inspection and testing submission timelines to ensure on-time reporting and shipment readiness Liaise with store teams and customer care teams regarding product quality concerns and assist with root cause investigations Transport sealed reference samples between the Support Office and Distribution Centre when required (own vehicle required) Support the Product and Production teams with measuring samples and reviewing BSR garments to ensure specifications and standards are accurate Assist the QA and Product teams with troubleshooting quality issues and implementing continuous improvement initiatives Ensure all garments comply with GAZMAN quality standards and Australian regulatory requirements Contribute to the ongoing improvement of QC procedures, supplier performance monitoring, and documentation processes Relevant tertiary or industry-related qualifications Minimum 2–3 years hands-on experience in the garment industry, including both knit and woven categories and accessories Strong understanding of garment construction, fabric types, and performance standards Familiarity with AQL inspection procedures and lab test report reviews Excellent communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills High attention to detail and ability to identify subtle quality issues Proven ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities effectively Comfort working in both Distribution Centre and office environments Valid driver’s licence and own vehicle required for inter-site travel Ability to work independently while maintaining effective cross-functional collaboration A positive, proactive ‘can-do’ attitude We provide: A competitive salary package Generous product allowance and 50% discount across all our brands (GAZMAN, Perri Cutten & Cable) Free on-site parking in our office A supportive and collaborative culture, where your ideas are welcomed and valued Be part of a proudly Australian-owned, well-established and trusted business Opportunities to attend fantastic events through the year About us Austin Group is a proudly Australian-owned, family-run fashion business with a rich heritage and a passion for quality.
