Description The QC Destruct Lab Technician is responsible for supporting quality control activities within the Destruct Lab to ensure product performance, weld integrity, and compliance with customer specifications, internal quality standards, and automotive industry requirements. This role operates under the direction of the QC supervisor, with assigned responsibilities determined based on departmental needs. The technician must demonstrate strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to perform inspections, testing, calibrations, validations, and reporting in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and is also expected to support continuous improvements initiatives, maintain quality equipment, uphold compliance with all company policies, safety regulations, quality management system, including IATF 16949 requirements and familiarity with the Toyota Production System (TPS). Operate all equipment and measurement devices within the Destruct Lab. Perform weld destruct testing and inspections at established frequencies according to work orders, production demands, and immediate quality needs. Complete lab work orders and finalize detailed reports for Production, Quality Control (QC), and customer requests. Perform calibrations, testing, validation work, and generate all required supporting documentation. Complete required correlation audits. Ensure product performance and quality conform to customer specifications and requirements. Resolve quality problems as they are identified. Elevate nonconformities or abnormal conditions to the QC Team Leader, Supervisor, and Production Team. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned Requirements Comply with all safety regulations. Maintain proper 5S standards within assigned work areas. Ensure proper management and care of quality equipment. Work overtime during weekdays and weekends as required to support production and Quality Control needs. Work Environment: Work is typically performed in production environment Must be able to use a variety of tools and equipment such as computer terminal for data input, copy machines, calculator and any other equipment related to functional area. Must be able to use software includes the use of Windows Operating System, MS Office Applications (Word, Excel, Power Point, Access database, etc), and Internet Noise Levels: Moderate Noise The physical tasks described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Lifting up to 10 pounds – must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Physical Sight – Able to read and analyze data in hard copy and on a computer screen. Telephone Communications – Able to communicate verbally using a telephone. Multitasking – Able to manage multiple work projects simultaneously. Proficient in using basic measurement tools, including Calipers, Steel Rules, Taper Gauges. Occasionally travels by automotive and or plane.
