As a Quality Control Inspector A, you will be on the front lines of ensuring the quality, precision, and strength of our precast concrete products. You will gain hands-on experience in inspection, testing, and production, working directly with skilled professionals who take pride in craftsmanship and accuracy. Whether inspecting forms, testing materials, or verifying finished products, your attention to detail will play a key role in keeping our projects on track and our standards high. Summary The Quality Control Inspector A is responsible for checking the quality of precast concrete panels through one of three specialties: pre-pour inspection, post-pour inspection, or laboratory testing. Each inspector ensures that all work meets company, PCI, and industry standards while supporting ATMI’s commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement. Responsibilities Pre-Pour Inspection Inspect forms to PCI-MNL-117 tolerances, including squareness, location of architectural features and openings, reinforcement placement, and surface quality Verify and record strand elongations Prepare and cast next-day concrete cylinders for testing Report any discrepancies or deviations to QC management Post-Pour Inspection Approve finished products by verifying specifications and conducting visual and dimensional checks Release tables to stripping crews by breaking next-day cylinders Tag panels with all required information, including cast date, panel number, control number, job number, and bed number Identify nonconformities and confirm rework when required Report any discrepancies to QC management Laboratory Testing Conduct fresh concrete testing for temperature, unit weight, air content, slump, and 28-day cylinders Store, break, and record 28-day cylinder results Perform aggregate testing such as moistures and gradations Maintain a clean and organized laboratory environment Requirements High school diploma or equivalent Ability to occasionally lift and move objects up to 50 lbs Ability to work outdoors in varying conditions including heat, humidity, and exposure to dust Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy Willingness to learn and follow established procedures Excellent communication and teamwork skills
