Bilton Welding and Manufacturing Ltd. is looking for a reliable, goal-driven, and positive Quality Control Inspector to join our team! In this role you will ensure our products meet the highest standards of quality and compliance, demonstrating our commitment to excellence.
Location: Innisfail, Alberta
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00AM to 4:30PM

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

  • CWB Level 1 or 2 (preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of ASME Code (an asset).
  • Post-secondary education in Mechanical Engineering, Quality Assurance, or a related field.
  • Experience in shop fabrication/welding or as a journeyman (an asset).
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams and Outlook.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings and weld symbols.
  • Understanding of welding processes and techniques.
  • High attention to detail and accurate measuring skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Team-oriented with a customer-focused mindset.
Responsibilities
  • Approve in-process and finished products by confirming specifications through visual and measurement tests.
  • Document inspection results by completing reports, summarizing re-work, and updating the quality database.
  • Organize and schedule Non-Destructive Examination (NDE) requirements and liaise with contractors.
  • Review and interpret X-Ray films, NDE reports, and welding test results.
  • Witness and document hydro tests, Post Weld Heat Treat (PWHT) procedures, and weld tests.
  • Maintain Mill Test Report (MTR) and compile technical packages for projects.
  • Track and approve costs for all NDE services while ensuring alignment with project budgets.
  • Collaborate with production teams to ensure Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) compliance and assist in the development of new procedures.
  • Perform internal/external audits and manage project QA/QC documents, including non-compliance reports (NCRs).
  • Provide support to third-party inspectors while on-site.
  • Follow and enforce strict safety protocols, including wearing appropriate PPE.
