JOB SUMMARY:

Quality Control Inspector is responsible for ensuring that products meet quality standards and specifications. This includes executing QC inspection of in-process product, product supplied by a vendor, and finished product to verify conformance to requirements; documenting inspection activity; training team members and production members on product requirements/quality; and assisting with quality related reports, reviews, and audits as needed.

EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:

  • 2+ years of experience in Quality Control
  • Knowledge of applicable standards (ISO 13485, GMP and QSR).
  • Ability to read and comprehend complex assembly drawings, test procedures, and component drawings
  • Knowledge of metrology needed to perform inspecting of parts and finished goods.
  • Reading, writing and basic math
  • Neat, accurate and complete record keeping
  • Attention to detail and process oriented
  • Basic Computer Skills: Word, Excel
  • Good administrative and organizational skills
  • Communication Skills: Ability to write, speak and read English
  • Basic knowledge of CMM, Vision System and Comparator measuring equipment
  • Interpersonal: Ability to cooperate and support team members and ability to coordinate interdepartmental activities and to resolve individual conflicts and issues

REQUIRED EDUCATION/LICENSING/CERTIFICATION:

  • Highschool diploma or equivalent; background in CNC machining and Quality Inspection or related fields preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Business casual attire.
  • Ability to physically stand, bend, squat, and lift up to 25-30 lbs.

Responsibilities
  • Reports to RA/QA Manager & President/ Engineering Partner.
  • Perform incoming inspections, in-process inspection, dimensional inspections and final product inspections per drawing, work instruction, and job router requirements.
  • Complete assignments that are moderately complex in nature where good decision-making skills are required in resolving problems and making proactive recommendations to continually improve the quality of the product.
  • Able to read engineering prints and verify dimensional data using various inspection equipment such as calipers, go/no gauges, comparator, vision system etc.
  • Ensure all production activities have been completed.
  • Ensure product has been processed at correct quantities.
  • Must have the ability to effectively interact with all levels of associates, and all functional departments in the organization.
  • Must be capable of independently prioritizing multiple tasks, maintaining Inspection data, and analyzing inspection data.
  • Effectively works in a team setting, supporting team goals and objectives.
  • General use decision-making skills and judgment to verify that quality standards are maintained.
  • Complete nonconformance reports for findings of inspection process.
  • Train line personnel on quality issues and objectives in support of Production Leadership.
  • Support line reconciliation process as required.
  • Participate and support continuous improvement objectives of the department.
  • Train the production team on quality control measures to improve product excellence.
  • Propose improvements to the inspection process/ plan.
  • Monitoring the use of metrological equipment to ensure it is Calibrated and discard or re-calibrate any that do not meet requirements.
  • Updating job knowledge by engaging in educational opportunities and regular training.
