QUALIFICATIONS

  • 1+ years experience in Quality Control or Quality Assurance role in a Food Service Environment
  • Previous experience in a USDA/FDA Regulated Facility or a GFSI certified facility
  • 6+ months experience using technology such as smart phones and tablets, inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information
  • ServSafe food handling certified or equivalent desired
  • Self-motivated and self-directed with strong communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in team environments.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a strong sense of urgency in a fast-paced environment
  • HACCP guideline knowledge
  • Experience with Xray/Metal Detector or similar Food Manufacturing equipment
  • Familiar with Modified Atmosphere Packaging (MAP) gas and/or Reduced Oxygen Packaging (ROP) manufacturing

REQUIREMENTS

  • 18 years old and legally authorized to work in the US
  • Ability to communicate effectively as needed to carry out job functions, including reading, writing and basic arithmetic (addition and subtraction)
  • Able to lift, pull, and push 50 pounds of weight by oneself
  • Able to stand a full shift while working
  • Able to work evenings and weekends
  • Comfortable working in various temperatures including cold environments (34-40 degrees Fahrenheit) and occasional freezer temperatures that can range anywhere from 0-10 degrees Fahrenheit

Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Quality Control Lead, you are responsible for ensuring food safety and quality standards are met by routine monitoring of receiving/distribution, production, and food storage activities. The QC Lead will lead a team of Quality Control Associates and help ensure adherence to established food safety standards, Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), and Critical Control Points (CCPs) throughout the food process flow.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead and support QC Associates in executing daily quality operations while assisting the QC Supervisor with team coordination, task organization, and performance monitoring
  • Ensure timely completion of all QC checks, including assisting with start-of-shift assignments, break and shift coverage, record reviews, verifications, and shift changeover reporting
  • Collaborate with Sanitation, Facilities, and Production teams to ensure alignment on food safety and quality standards, and support routine GMP audits, adenosine triphosphate (ATP) swabbing, cleanliness inspections, and pre-operational checks
  • Monitor and document Critical Control Points (CCPs), including refrigeration and cooling processes, to ensure compliance with HACCP and Food Safety Plans
  • Conduct quality checks across production, including batch testing, label verification, leak detection, and verification of equipment calibration (thermometers, scales) and sanitation chemical concentrations
  • Identify and document non-conforming items, manage product holds, and assist with implementing corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
  • Maintain QC equipment records and ensure calibration schedules are met; oversee sanitation documentation (daily, weekly, monthly) for accuracy and completion.
  • Monitor and manage QC supply inventory to ensure all areas remain properly stocked
  • Oversee the receiving and delivery process for incoming products (fresh, frozen, and dry), ensuring proper temperatures and compliance with food safety requirements
  • Distribution Center - Assist in facilitating the daily operations and activities in the outbound warehouse areas prior to dispatch, while ensuring food safety measures are met during the process
  • Lead and support training initiatives
  • Complete other duties as assigned
