We are looking for a dedicated Quality Control Manager who would be a key member of the site leadership team responsible for ensuring that the products manufactured at the site comply with all applicable company, customer and regulatory requirements.
The Quality Control Manager is responsible for developing and implementing quality control procedures, conducting inspections, analyzing data, and participating in events to identify and resolve quality issues. The Quality Manager’s goal is to ensure optimal product quality, enhancing customer satisfaction and minimizing waste and production costs.
This position will provide leadership and direction; establish current and long-range objectives and set operating plans for their area of responsibility – to fulfill near term goals and commitments, while building towards sustainable manufacturing excellence. It is the responsibility of this position to motivate and lead their team according to company policies to achieve business objectives that will have a major impact on the success of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a quality control team, providing training on quality standards and procedures.
  • Set goals, objectives, and daily directives for direct reports.
  • Manage the inspection and testing of products to ensure adherence to established quality standards.
  • Develop quality control staff by planning, monitoring, and appraising job results accompanied by coaching, counseling, and disciplinary action as appropriate.
  • Create and update quality control procedures, testing protocols, and inspection plans.
  • Maintain accurate records of quality control activities.
  • Analyze quality data, identify trends, and generate reports to track performance and pinpoint areas for improvement.
  • Effectively communicate quality-related information to relevant stakeholders, including production teams and management.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and waste reduction, contributing to a culture of continuous quality improvement.
  • Assist with programs to prevent or eliminate defects/issues in new or existing products and drive continuous improvement programs by participating in cross-functional teams using proven problem-solving techniques (Six Sigma, 8D, SPC, FMEA, 5-Why, etc).
  • Establish standards for the disposition of products by devising evaluation tests, methods, and procedures.
  • Drive AFL’s Quality Policy. Lead and participate in business improvement efforts for the site.
  • Benchmark quality program against industry leaders; develop strategies to implement best practices achieving world class quality excellence.
  • Support the manufacturing facilities during audits, tours, and onsite customer witness activities.
  • Adhere to and promote the environmental, health & safety policies of AFL.
  • Perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Quality Management or other related technical discipline.
  • 3 plus years of Quality Control or related quality organization work experience.
  • 3 years of leadership experience.
  • Strong knowledge of quality control principles and statistical process control.
  • Quality Certification (CQA or CQE) and/or Quality-specifictraining (Six Sigma, ISO Lead Auditor, Problem-Solving, etc.) is preferred.
  • Proficient in MS Office.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team
