POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Quality Control Manager is a leadership position responsible for overseeing all quality control operations within the Production segment of St Charles Trading. This individual will lead a team of quality control professionals to ensure the production of safe, high-quality food products that meet regulatory standards, customer expectations, and company quality benchmarks. The role requires a strong background in food science, regulatory compliance, and team management, along with the ability to develop and implement robust quality assurance processes.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Chemistry, Biology, or a related field. A Master’s degree or higher is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality control within the food industry, with experience in a senior or leadership role.
  • Extensive knowledge of food safety regulations, quality management systems (e.g., HACCP, GMP, ISO 22000), and industry standards.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading and managing quality control teams in a high-volume food production environment.
  • Strong understanding of product testing methodologies, root cause analysis, and corrective action procedures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and influence senior leadership.

DESIRED SKILLS:

  • Certification in food safety (e.g., HACCP, SQF, etc.).
  • Experience with ERP and quality management software.
  • Ability to analyze data and trends to make data-driven decisions.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

Responsibilities
  • Quality Control Strategy Development:
  • Develop, implement, and monitor quality control strategies and processes to ensure food products meet or exceed safety and quality standards.
  • Align quality control efforts with organizational goals, industry trends, and regulatory changes.
  • Leadership & Team Management:
  • Lead and mentor a team of quality control managers and specialists.
  • Oversee recruitment, training, and development programs to build a high-performing QC team.
  • Provide guidance on resolving complex quality issues and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Regulatory Compliance & Auditing:
  • Ensure all food production processes comply with local, national, and international regulatory standards (e.g., FDA, USDA, HACCP, ISO 22000, etc.).
  • Oversee internal and external audits, inspections, and certifications to ensure adherence to regulatory and quality standards.
  • Product Quality Assurance:
  • Monitor the quality control processes throughout the entire food production cycle—from raw material inspection to finished product testing.
  • Review and analyze product testing results, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions when necessary.
  • Develop and update food safety and quality documentation, including specifications, procedures, and protocols.
