Job Description
Our Social Infrastructure SHEQ team have an exciting new position for a Quality Control Manager. The successful applicant will ensure that Social Infrastructure have effective process / frameworks for ensuring Quality Control in the delivery of our process in line with Technical Specification, Client scope and legal requirements.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Previous experience in a SHEQ, HSEQ, or QHSE in Quality Control
  • Good knowledge of health, safety, environmental, and quality compliance processes.
  • Thorough knowledge of quality control standards and testing methodologies.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Excellent data collection and analysis skills.
  • Strong organisational and multitasking skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in record keeping.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Degree in Quality Management and Quality in Construction
  • Certification (e.g., Certified Quality Manager).
  • Experience with ISO 9001 or similar quality management systems.

Responsibilities

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and implement quality control procedures and protocols for construction projects, aligned with the works delivered within Social Infrastructure.
  • Conduct regular inspections of materials, workmanship, and site activities.
  • Regularly audit project standards against the Quality Control procedures.
  • Review project plans and specifications to ensure quality standards are integrated.
  • Identify and resolve quality issues in collaboration with engineers and subcontractors.
  • Support in the creation, development and maintenance of detailed Project Specification and subsequent Inspection and Test processes.
  • Create and run education program for business on the fundamentals of Quality Control.
  • Liaise and work with 3rd party external and/or Client inspectors.
  • Monitor subcontractor performance and ensure adherence to quality expectations.
  • Prepare reports for senior management on quality metrics and project status.
  • Support pre-construction and progress meetings focused on quality control.
  • Act as a business point of contact for Construction Quality Control and technical assurance.
  • Work directly with the Quality Assurance Manager to support the entire Quality Function.

HEALTH AND SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Set a good example to others by working safely
  • Ensure that United Living HSE&Q standards, operating processes, company policies and all legislative requirements are understood, implemented and adhered to at all times
  • To spot unsafe acts and report them to the site management team under your duty in the Health & Safety at Work Act
