Description Summary: Philly’s Best Steak Company Inc. is a leading Philadelphia area meat processing facility specializing in the manufacturing of Philly style steak products. The Quality Control Technician is responsible for capturing the daily records that support Philly’s Best Steak Company’s Food Safety Management System. Technicians are positioned on the production floor to ensure that a safe quality product is consistently being produced, and all Hazards (Physical, Chemical and Biological) are controlled. Status: Full-Time / Non-Exempt Schedule: Monday – Saturday 6:00 am – Close (with rotating weekday off, occasional Sundays) Occasionally, additional hours may be required to complete tasks and/or projects. Essential Duties/Responsibilities: Promotes a food safety culture within the site. Responsible for daily record keeping in regard to the Food Safety Plan, HACCP Plan, and Hazard Analysis, ensuring all documents are completed daily. Secondary contact to the USDA FSIS inspector onsite and maintaining a good working relationship built on trust and respect. Responsible for reporting production non conformances to Production Supervisors and working closely with them to resolve solutions. All other duties as assigned. Requirements Skills and Qualifications: Prior experience in a Food Safety Role. Experience in managing an integrated Food Safety Management System. HACCP certified and current (less than 5 years old) preferred PCQI certification preferred Experience in food microbiology, and pathogen testing Sanitation experience and an understanding of chemical titration and usage. SQF, BRC FSSC 22000 experience preferred.
Responsibilities
