JOB DESCRIPTION:

North Atlantic Pacific Seafood, a leading seafood processing and distribution company, is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Quality Control & Regulatory Compliance Specialist. This position plays a vital role in ensuring the safety, quality, and regulatory compliance of all seafood products processed and distributed by our facility.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for inspecting products at various stages (receiving, in-process, and final), documenting quality metrics, enforcing sanitation and safety protocols, and ensuring the company remains fully compliant with FDA, USDC, and state regulatory requirements. The candidate must be HACCP certified or must obtain certification upon hire.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marine Biology, Environmental Health, or related field preferred.
  • HACCP certification required or must be obtained within 60 days of hire.
  • Minimum 1–3 years of experience in food safety, regulatory compliance, or quality assurance (preferably in seafood or food processing).
  • Strong knowledge of FDA and USDC food regulations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, especially Excel database reporting and management.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in fast-paced production environments.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.

Responsibilities
  • Inspect incoming raw materials, in-process product, and finished goods to ensure compliance with company specifications and regulatory standards.
  • Create detailed inspection reports with photographs and written descriptions.
  • Monitor and enforce Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs), and HACCP plans during production.
  • Ensure sanitation logs, production reports, and quality control forms are completed accurately and on time.
  • Maintain documentation related to FDA, USDC, and state food safety regulations.
  • Coordinate product sampling and third-party lab testing as needed.
  • Assist in investigations for product deviations, quality complaints, or regulatory inquiries.
  • Act as the company point-of-contact during regulatory inspections and audits.
  • Keep up to date with federal and state seafood safety regulations, and communicate relevant changes to management and production teams.
  • Lead employee training on food safety, hygiene, and quality assurance procedures.
  • Perform additional compliance and quality-related tasks as assigned by management.
