POSITION OVERVIEW

The Quality Control/Safety Inspector ensures welding processes meet quality standards, performing inspections, evaluating procedures, and maintaining compliance with safety regulations. This role collaborates with teams to address welding quality issues and promotes best practices. While CWI certification is preferred, it is not required, but the candidate must pass the certification within 6 months of hire.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • CWI certification is preferred but not required; must pass within 6 months of hire.
  • 3-5 years of experience in welding inspection or related fields.
  • Knowledge of welding processes, materials, and codes (e.g., AWS, ASME, API).
  • Proficient in NDT methods and welding procedure interpretation.
  • Ability to work in various industrial settings, including lifting to 50 lbs.
Responsibilities
  • Inspect welds using visual and NDT methods to ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., AWS, ASME, API).
  • Review and evaluate welding procedures, ensuring adherence to quality and safety standards.
  • Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols during all welding processes to ensure a safe working environment for all personnel.
  • Monitor welding quality to ensure that it meets all specifications and tolerances, promoting continuous improvement.
  • Maintain detailed inspection records, including weld logs and non-compliance documentation.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and welding teams to resolve quality control issues and implement corrective actions as necessary.
  • Advise on adjustments to welding procedures and safety measures to improve quality and mitigate risks.
  • Assist in training junior welders and ensure they understand safety guidelines and quality control best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and industry safety standards to minimize risks and enhance operational efficiency.
