Description GXM is seeking to hire a Software Quality Assurance Engineer and Tester to support quality assurance activities in support of multiple software development projects. The selected candidate will support testing efforts by writing and executing test cases, identifying and documenting defects, and assisting with test result reporting while working under the guidance of senior quality assurance staff. The candidate will work closely with development teams to support verification of software requirements and contribute to testing activities across projects. This role provides opportunities to expand experience with modern testing tools and technologies, including containerized and CI/CD-enabled environments. This is a full-time, exempt position that may be performed remotely with short-term travel as required by the project. This position will be based out of Fredericksburg, VA with occasional travel to Dahlgren, VA. Roles and Responsibilities • Design, develop, document, and execute test plans, test cases, and test scenarios based on software requirements • Perform manual functional testing to validate new features and identify defects • Perform manual API testing to validate new endpoints and identify defects • Analyze test results and support defect identification, escalation, and resolution • Advise leadership on testing progress, risks, and issues using testing expertise • Collaborate with technical leads and product owners to develop testing plans, schedules, and time estimates • Update and maintain test specifications and test plans using source control tools • Configure, administer, and troubleshoot software test environments • Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, reviews, backlog refinement, and retrospectives Requirements • Must be a U.S. Citizen • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail Desired Qualifications • Prior military service or experience supporting Department of War or military operations • Experience testing web front-end applications, APIs, and back-end systems • Experience working in an Agile development environment • Experience working in Linux/Unix environments • Experience using Jira, Confluence, or similar issue tracking and collaboration tools • Computer Science degree or related technical education, or equivalent experience • Experience with test case management tools such as TestRail, Zephyr, or similar • Test automation experience • Knowledge of programming or scripting languages used in test automation (e.g., JavaScript, Java, Python) • Ability to write SQL queries • Knowledge of web application UI models and internet protocols (HTTP, SSL, SOAP, XML, etc.) • Experience with accessibility standards such as Section 508 Compliance and WCAG 2.0 AA Equal Employment Opportunity / Legal Disclaimer GXM Technologies LLC is an Equal Opportunity Employer and participates in E-Verify to confirm employment eligibility.
