We are currently seeking an SQF Practitioner & Quality Control Specialist to join our team. This role is responsible for ensuring that all finished product packaging meets SQF food safety standards, customer specifications, and regulatory requirements. The successful candidate will manage SQF program compliance related to finished goods packaging and perform quality control inspections and testing to maintain product integrity and safety prior to shipment.
EXPERIENCE
· Post-secondary education or diploma in Quality Assurance, Packaging, Print, or a related field.
· HACCP certification, preferably with experience in packaging applications.
· Knowledge of the SQF Code, with a willingness and aptitude to further learn SQF and HACCP standards and food safety programs.
· Excellent attention to detail and strong documentation skills.
· Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.

SQF Practitioner Responsibilities:
· Serve as the designated SQF Practitioner focused on finished product packaging within the SQF system.
· Maintain, update, and enforce compliance with the SQF Food Packaging Code and the facility’s SQF manual related to finished goods.
· Lead and coordinate internal audits, third-party SQF certification audits, and regulatory inspections focused on finished product packaging.
· Oversee Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) relevant to finished packaging, including cleaning, pest control, traceability, and product hold/release processes.
· Ensure compliance with SQF policies for finished goods, including lot traceability and contamination control.
· Conduct training and awareness sessions on SQF packaging safety practices for packaging and warehouse teams.
· Manage corrective and preventive action plans (CAPAs) related to finished packaging non-conformance’s or audit findings.
Quality Control Responsibilities:
· Inspect finished product packaging for defects, label accuracy, print quality, and adherence to customer specifications.
· Perform routine checks on packaging line output, including dimensions, barcodes, lot coding, and packaging integrity.
· Verify proper documentation and traceability for all finished product packaging.
· Coordinate hold-and-release procedures for finished goods pending quality approval.
· Investigate and document packaging defects or quality issues; initiate root cause analysis and follow up on corrective actions.
· Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance packaging quality and food safety.
· Maintain calibration and proper use of quality inspection tools and equipment.
· Inspect incoming raw material.
· Other duties as required.
